Christmas & New Year in Normandy
There is an amazing selection of caterers and great restaurants offering ‘Traiter’ so you can have your Christmas catered a la Francais! The main celebration with family and friends is on Christmas Eve, ‘Le Reveillon’ is a big feast shared with family. Turkey stuffed with chestnuts, goose, foie Gras and frogs legs are regular on tables.
One speciality we have enjoyed in the past is an enormous seafood platter ‘plateau de fruits de mer’ which is traditional fare in France. Follow this by a turkey stuffed with chesnuts, Foie Gras and an array of local delicacies.
There is certainly no shortage of options to finish off your meal, visit the Artisan boulangerie in Hambye for the most delicious gateaux and pastries…a foodies dream! Obviously the best place for your Christmas drinking collection is the local supermarket, great value wines and Champagnes, local cidre and I’m sure a bottle of local calvados or two!If you would like to enquire or book your Christmas at La Germainiere or Le Mesnil Gonfory we’d love to hear from you.
We look forward to welcoming you for a joyeaux Noel!
